Interested in participating in research?

UF researchers conduct many different kinds of research studies, including clinical trials. Some studies focus on certain health conditions, but others enroll healthy volunteers.

HealthStreet is currently navigating people to many of these studies, some of which can be completed in minutes.

Here are a few studies in which you might be interested:

  1. A study to examine the effects of brain stimulation and brain training on thinking and memory improvement.
  2. A study that compares different types of mobile technology for their effects on alcohol drinking and ratings of how much young adults like this technology and how useful they think it is.

HealthStreet’s Cancer Research Engagement Program also provides numerous opportunities for community members to participate in health research at the University of Florida.

These are a few of the studies we are currently recruiting for:

  1. A study on weight loss interventions for overweight women diagnosed with HER-2 negative, stage II and III breast cancer.
  2.  A study that tests an intervention using virtual human technology (VHT) to improve communication with patients about colorectal cancer (CRC) and increase CRC screening.

Visit our Cancer Research Engagement Program web page for health education and medical and social resources devoted to cancer.

If you are interested in hearing more about these and other studies, please contact HealthStreet at 352-294-4880.

About HealthStreet

HealthStreet is a community engagement program that connects community members to medical and social services and opportunities to participate in health research at the University of Florida.  By completing a health assessment with one of our Community Health Workers, we can provide you with information about low or no-cost services, including eye exams, mental health counseling, dance classes, cooking classes, health support groups, a clothing closet, and a toiletry pantry. Your voice is important, and you can be heard by becoming a HealthStreet member.
